“Refuse”

Can somebody turn the light on? I'm afraid of the dark.

It's hard to live a life and never know where you are

I run from all my demons never get very far

Distant for a reason…see this life made me hard

But I refuse to let it beat me…never has and never will

Stay numb to all the punches and make their tongue be still

And everyone who doubted me will be a head down in shame
