Albert “Hittamane” Yates

Artist Albert "Hittamane" Yates
Albert Yates is one of the brightest young rap artists coming out of the underground today. Born and raised in St. Louis Missouri, Yates – who is better known by his musical moniker, Hittamane, – first discovered his love of music when he 7 years old, but his love of music only deepened as he grew into a teenager. He says his greatest teachers have been his brother and sister. His inspiration is found in other musicians; particularly Dr. Dre, Eminem and Ice Cube and in the musical underground from artists like Nick Britt, Rinaa Phoenix, Zeus Rebel Waters, and Frost Money.
Hittamane Yates was inspired to begin a career in music by his older brother and the first rap song he heard from Tupac Amaru Shakur titled “I Get Around”. His breakout moment in the music industry was realized with his first musical release “The Chosen One”. When it comes to the genre of music he likes to play, he is more versatile when it comes to doing rap but he can write and record a verse to almost any genre of music. When asked what distinguishes him as a musician, Hittamane says, “I do fast rap well…like a tongue twister…so I think that makes me different. And when I perform, I wear performance gear as I call it, instead of just an outfit. It’s all in how I deliver my lyrics when I rap” His greatest challenge in his music career has been in coming back in the scene from rebuilding himself as an artist….physically by working out more, mentally and also in a lyrical sense. Hittamane Yates sees himself becoming an established indie hip-hop artist in the future…hopefully close to Tech N9ne's level…and getting to be comfortable in his music career.
When asked what his mantra is, Hittamane Yates says, “Just gotta stay focused and keep at it.”
