Every once in a while, you come across a musician with the drive, motivation and vision, like Mr. Chris Pilgrim, who knows where he comes from and knows exactly where he wants to be.
Hailing from the Easley, South Carolina, Chris Pilgrim grew up with a deep love of music, but his greatest joy came from singing karaoke with his mom and sister. His favorite musical memory is meeting Lonestar. When he heard how highly people thought of his gift, it inspired Chris to transform his love of singing into a profession. Chris’s greatest teachers have been his grandmother, who taught him to sing, and his wife and children. When asked who he looks up to in the music industry, Chris says, “My greatest inspirations are my friends Travis Yates and Cici Garcia. They are my major inspirations because being friends with them and knowing their pain and what they have been through has shown me that all things are possible by God's grace and a strong heart. If they can do it, so can I.”
While he is still relatively new in the industry, Chris Pilgrim is a solo artist who is about to take the music world by storm. He is currently working on recording a mix-tape with Muzic Masters which will be out later this year. Chris says that his greatest challenge as a musician has been in overcoming people’s biased judgment of him. He says, “I have learned that in life, you will have a lot of people that judge you and hate on you for what you look like or how you dress or the things you have that they don't. I want the people I have lost to know that I have made it…that I have struggled in the past but have come out stronger and I am a singer.” When asked where he sees himself going in his music career, Chris says, “I hope to change lives with my music and give hope to those of you that feel that you’re not good enough. I thought the same, but if you have a voice, God said let it be heard.”
