Brandie “Cici” Garcia

Artist: Brandie Garcia
Every now and then, you come across an artist that is truly unique; one that has not only a deep passion for creating beautiful music, but also possesses a sincere and humble spirit that commands both respect and admiration. Brandie Garcia is one such artist.
Hailing from Pickens, South Carolina, Brandie Garcia - who goes by the musical moniker “Cici” when she is gracing the stage - discovered her love of music and singing when she was a child. Her family shares her passion for music, but her desire to sing was realized when she and her brother were singing along to Motown as they helped their mother clean house one Sunday afternoon. She began her career as a musician when a friend told her of a band in need of a female vocalist. Cici says “I had always been super shy so I didn't really sing in front of a lot of people but I had been through so much I figured you know what why not? I laid down that first song and I’ve been hooked ever since. lol”
For Cici, nothing in life compares to music. Music is her outlet…her therapy and her addiction. Her fondest musical memory came when she was practicing for her first audition for The Voice. She says, “A friend of mine who had just lost his brother commented and told me that hearing me sing let him know that God had angels here on Earth and gave him peace knowing that his brother was with God. His words really touched me.
While most of her time is dedicated to singing, Cici has also begun experimenting with rap. Above all though, she just likes having fun with her music. When asked who her greatest teacher is when it comes to her music Cici says, “I'd have to say that for me, life has taught me to be the kind of artist I am…along with the experiences that I have had and all the people who have contributed to those experiences along the way. Cici draws inspiration from fellow music artist, Travis Yates. She says, “He really inspires me…that dude has been through a million things that most people would let keep them from positive progress, but he thrives as only he could. Lol. Love that dude.”
Cici has had many achievements throughout her musical career. She has written a gospel song titled “Lost Ones”. She also opened for “BShoc”, a Christian rapper out of Georgia. Her greatest achievement has been in self discovery. She notes that self-discovery has taught her a lot about the person she is and the person she would like to be. Her greatest challenge as a musician has been in finding self confidence. She says, “We’re all our own worst critics and I'm definitely mine. I'm also a perfectionist. When it comes to my lyrics, one word can change the meaning of a whole sentence. I want to tell my story, so it's super important for me to make the audience "feel me”…but the more I do this the more natural it feels.
When asked if she has any new projects coming up in her career, Cici says, “I just started working with BUnique Ent and I've got couple of collabs coming with “Space Jam” Cam (aka Cam Seay). Travis Yates and I have linked up and come up with "Happily Never After" and I'm currently working on my album, “CiCi Vs Harlie Quinn”.
