A Beautiful Silence
Director: Steven Adam Renkovish
Cast: Brittany Smith
“A Beautiful Silence” is a story of hope and heartbreak told from the perspective of a young woman named Brittany as she embarks on a journey that will break the shackles of darkness surrounding her heart and allows her to embrace the love of her Heavenly Father and the faith that she feels she has lost.
Throughout the film, Brittany is plagued by an inner struggle. While she is surrounded by people who seemingly understand the infinite and extraordinary essence of faith, Brittany finds that she is walking through this delicate journey alone; searching for an essence that she feels calling to her in the darkness, but one that she cannot fully grasp. She is struggling to understand the perfection of God and her own worth as His child, but she cannot feel a connection to Him. She is overwhelmed, yet she longs to hear His voice. While she initially feels distant from God, Brittany soon finds herself crying out to him for comfort and healing; trusting that he will carry her as only God can.
While “A Beautiful Silence” is visually stunning and both the casting and the direction are flawless, there is also a sincerity and elegance to the story which allowed me to understand Brittany’s journey towards faith without it feeling overly sugar-coated or preachy. This is a beautiful film and one that I would highly recommend.
